This is what I like to think of as an artisanal novelty preset; it produces an over-the-top stylized image. If you’ve ever been interested in learning about the nooks and crannies of Lightroom, taking a preset like this and studying all the moves made to achieve the look will leave you with a new familiarity of Lightroom which you can now use to develop your own personal style.

The most I ever learned about Lightroom was about 4 years ago when I got a wild preset and worked it back until the image was back to its unedited state. Whenever people ask me for editing advice, that’s the first exercise I’ll recommend.

This preset is best suited for images taken in shady nature-heavy areas. It’ll grab onto the greens and yellows and oranges and ignite them with fiery tones, while giving a sharp contrast via ghostly glowing highlights. It is especially effective when the subject is wearing colors that won't get caught in the oranges, such as blues and purples.

Since it is such a heavily stylized preset, some adjusting is inevitable. Start with the white balance and exposure sliders to find the sweet spot that separates skin tones from the background, and use highlights to dictate how bright the glowing green will be. Contrast is helpful to pop the subject from the background in brighter shots.

Download: Unless you are using an older version of Lightroom, all you need are the .xmp files, but there are also .lrtemplate files for anyone who has evaded updating in a few years.

All you have to do is unzip the file, press the + on your preset window, and navigate to your unzipped presets and they’ll download and be ready to rock and create some Halloween madness.

For the .lrtemplates, you’ll need to go ‘Lightroom’ > ‘Preferences’ > ‘Presets’ tab > ‘Show Lightroom Presets Folder’ > ‘Develop Presets’ > then copy your new presets into that folder, and finally restart Lightroom.

For Lightroom Mobile: The .dng photo files are for you. Save those into your LR mobile catalog and you can copy and paste the settings from them! I don’t think phones are able to open the file containing all the presets, so you’ll have to open the .zip on your computer, download, and then send/airdrop the .dng’s to your phone.
